Vendor Information and Registration

Join US and Showcase your Black Owned Business or Minority Serving Organization

  • -Parking is available in meters around campus and in the Sunset Avenue Garage in the 4700 block of Sunset Avenue. Vendors receive ONE six hour parking validation.

    -Parking strictly enforced 24/7. Please follow all posted signage.

    -APPROVED VENDORS will be allowed to momentarily park in front of the building to drop off/pick up items for setup and cleanup. Please see email instructions for latest details.

  • -Setup beings at 1pm. Cleanup begins at 7pm. Please refer to emailed instructions for details.

    -Participants are responsible for complete setup, breakdown and trash removal from their area.

  • DO I HAVE TO SELL A PRODUCT? CAN I JUST SHARE WHAT WE DO?

    -Sharing information about your organization is welcome and encouraged.

    DO I HAVE TO BE BLACK TO PARTICIPATE?
    -Kwanzaa and the LSB Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration is a secular event open to all. Participating vendors are preferred to be minority owned, led or serving organizations and businesses.

    ARE THERE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OR SUPPORT SERVICES AVAILABLE?

    -A number of business development and service organizations will participate in the event to assist you in enhancing your business, including the Butler Minority Owned Business Initiative (MOBI), Marion County Bar Association, LISC- Local Initiatives Support Corp.

    HOW WILL I RECEIVE MONEY FROM THE KWANZAA BUCKS SPENT WITH MY BUSINESS?

    -The first fifty people to arrive will receive $10 in Kwanzaa Bucks to encourage spending with participants and to turn support into real dollars for your business or organizations. You will receive the dollar equivalent to the Kwanzaa bucks spent with them that evening within two weeks following the event. Additional details shared following registration.

    HOW DO I SPONSOR THE EVENT OR SUPPORT PARTICIPATION BY STUDENTS, STUDENT LED BUSINESSES, SMALL BUSINESSES OR OTHER ORGANIZATIONS?

    Thank you for your consideration and evidence of ujamaa (cooperative economics) and ujima (collective work and responsibility. There are a number of ways to sponsor and support engagement:

    -Kwanzaa Bucks sponsorship from $50 (5 students or specific group of guests) / $100 (10 students or specific group of guests)/ and $500 (50 students or specific group of guests).

    -Student Book or Business Development Award sponsor from $100

    -Event Title and Named sponsor from $100 (general use funds to support general event including registration costs for a small business or organization.

    -In-Kind Donor of product or event services. Various

Food Trucks and mobile retail units (carts, vans, buses, etc) will need to submit certificate of insurance with an industry standard minimum $1million per occurrence with Butler University as a named insured for the event December 6, 2023.

This is an industry standard for the health and safety of customers. Please contact your insurance company with questions on how to process your individual request. Your insurance company may charge a nominal fee.

Special note for food trucks and Mobile Retail Units

Vendors receive:

  • One 8ft table with linens provided.

  • One online showcase listing featuring your company or organization description and three images hyperlinked to your website. If you do not have a company website or social media, the Innovation Lab can assist in its development

  • Pre and post event marketing to campus and area media outlets. View  2022 participants. 

  • One six hour parking validation.

  • Dedicated music, wine tasting and activity rooms.

  • Students, faculty, staff, alumni and area community invited to participate. The first fifty participants will receive $10 in Kwanzaa bucks to spend with vendors.

Fee: $40 registration before 11/30 and $50 thereafter.

Students led businesses are $20 with valid university email used during registration.
